In this reflection, the Cambridge Analytica case study was used as an illustrative example of the consequences of inappropriate use of surveys in the context of ethical, social and legal aspects. On this basis, it was determined which conclusions can be drawn in relation to personal profession.

This Collaborative Discussion referred to a case study on accuracy of information. The researcher Abi is confronted with the challenge that the data collected about a product from his client could indicate that the product is harmful. A different choice of statistical evaluation methods can allow positive as well as negative conclusions. Therefore, the question of an appropriate procedure arises from an ethical as well as a legal point of view.
