Skills Matrix and Action Plan
The Secure Software Development module provided insights into security aspects related to SDLC processes and the implementation of these in programming code. Not only were known vulnerabilities of the Python programming language examined and mitigation measures discussed, but also influences such as the human factor were analysed. Various SDLC frameworks were compared and worked out how they can be applied to reduce and prevent the vulnerabilities of a coding project under development. The Python programming language was compared to others and highlighted what constitutes a secure programming language. Furthermore, the knowledge learned was applied and consolidated as part of a coding project and an outlook on future Internet structures was provided, as well as the associated threats discussed.
